Windsurfing: Felixstowe Manor Wind Direction: SW Wind Stength: 18-25kts Surf / Sea State: rough Air Temperature: ok Sea Temperature: ok Weather: cloudy Max Speed: 26.10 (knots - unless stated otherwise) Distance Covered: 7.1 (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)
Need a sail but knew it would be a tough day when I arrived, it confirmed
my smallest board available being Bolt 135L was too big. The Bolt 115 am
still working on so maybe shouldn't have bothered as the sea was big. Most
guys out on 6m Squiz on 7m. The wind was up/down so ventured out on 6.2
Hellcat / 135. The thinking was keep under powered to keep the 80cm board
in the water.
I was under on the inside but fully powered up on the outside. The Bolt
refuse to stay down, taking off too much going in or out so wasn't
enjoying. It was the old school narrow boards day slicing thru the rough
water.
Moved the straps back inboards to stop any excess speed and it was better
but every time the big gusts came the board lifted. Would have got away
with on flattish water, but this was a wave head day so conceded defeat.
Hopefully will finish repair on 115 Bolt soon. as would have been ideal
today, although both boards and me prefer flattish water!
Hoping to sail a couple of hours at Mersea early Bank hol Mon, as its
anniversary and she wants to dress up and go out!
Merses is ideal Bolt territory so hoping for some good speeds and mileage
